I was looking for more opportunities for acts of kindness when I thought of my local Salvation Army church. I've volunteered there a few time before, helping with silent actions and paper work for my social work classes but other than that I don't volunteer as much as I should. Yesterday they put me to work right away, with helping to set up food baskets for the low income or needy families. It was pretty easy and there was some really generous, warm hearted people there. They were really happy and thankful I came...because they always have so much to do with not enough people, so it's easy for things to start piling up, every little bit helps. I'm definitely going to go back, and help with some soup kitchens and whatever else they need help with. She gave me a schedule. I was also thinking about helping out at the food bank here in Ishpeming, I'll have to check into it more.
Well have a good Spring Break everyone...I know I will:-)
I love reading about all your good deeds. There's so many opportunities to do good work out there, but I rarely think about it. I like your reminder that it's pretty easy to help out somebody else sometimes.
