Sorry it's been a few days! I've been so busy with all my classes, the work is just piling up with only 3 more weeks to go!
With that said, I haven't had anytime to do any big acts of kindness but when I'm about and about on campus, at work or in my community I am noticing some really kind acts that I thought I would share with you.
A couple nights ago I went to Family Video to return some movies...I went in the doors, put my movies in the drop off box, when I kid who looked about 7-8ish opened the door to come in but when he seen my he held the door open for me as I walked out telling me to have a good night. I replied with saying thank you and had a HUGE smile on my face. You could tell he must have had some good parents or something, because he had manners, polite and was really thoughtful! Most little kids don't care. They walk in and out, slamming the door but this boy took the time to open the door:-) made me happy.
The next morning I went to the store to get a few household supplies, I only had 3 things but when I went out to the check out there was a lady with a full cart. She told me, "Here! You go in front of me, I have no where to be and am in no hurry!" This made me so happy because I was running late for work and was in a big hurry. So I kindly thanked the woman and rushed out. As I got in my car, I couldn't help but look back on it, and thought, wow, that lady was really nice to let me go in front of her!"
The next day I had to work 8-1 which really stressed me out because I had a huge test in my Social Work Policy class at 2. I told my manager about it and if it was dead, if there was any way I could leave earlier. She said she would try but of course...it got really busy for lunch, why you ask? Because I had a test. Haha. I had to much prep to do, making pico, guac, and cutting romaine but I couldn't help thinking " I need to get out so I could study some more!" At about 12:20, Janee told me..."Michelle, go ask Caleb to take over for you so you can leave...I know you have that big test today" "Janee, are you sure?! We're pretty busy right now" I asked. "Yeah, we'll be fine..Ann is here to help if we need anything." I was so HAPPY and THANKFUL. I didn't think it was going to happen, but I was able to study for my test and pull of a 89%.
It's these little things that makes me have so much gratitude towards people, it's those little things that can make or break your day. I like to think that maybe this is my Karma, for doing nice things for others. :-)
I always enjoy reading your posts! Keep it up! And yes there are only 3 weeks left, and everything is piling up, but that means summer is just around the corner : )
